Over the past ten years we’ve found most brides opt for a timeless hair and make up style, probably through fear of following in their mother’s footsteps with a wedding album filled with lacquered perms and flashes of blue mascara. But, each year signature trends do emerge and many fashion conscious brides choose to embrace.
Most recently we’ve spied a rise the in use of glittery shadow, fuller lashes and voluminous hair alongside the boho vibe of flower crowns and glitter bars.
2020, like 2019 is set to be filled with Markle magic. The latter end of last year brides were swayed more towards sleek and simple chignons upping the elegance factor. Keeping hair low at the nape of the neck lends itself to a variety of veil placement options, and as Meghan proved, can be polished off with a sparkly number.
However, plaits, twists and loose waved styles will always compliment a more relaxed affair and ,in our option, remain on trend for years to come.
Make up is predicted to be moving more towards cooler tones, with metallics and smokey slates and greys taking centre stage. Skin will continue to be highlighted, but in a much more subtle way. Illuminated complexions, glowing cheeks and lightly glossed lips, with berry bitten lips proving popular for Autumn and Winter brides.
Although we don’t see the rose gold and bronze trend ceasing anytime soon, with warm tones flattering most complexions.
But trends aside, the ultimate goal when designing your wedding make up, is to create something bespoke to you. If you can’t feel and look like the most fabulous version of yourself on your wedding day, when can you?
